Operating System:
- It is a program that manages the operations of the computer for the user.
- Acts as a bridge between the user and computer’s hardware.
- It is held in the disc
- A small program called the loader is held in the ROM.
What does it do:
Manages hardware and software devices.
- Memory Management
- OS allocates memory to the program.
- Processor management
- An execution of identifier like PC
- Peripheral management
- OS controls external devices that are attached to the computer
- File management
- Manages files (.exe)
- Controls all of the processes running on computer
- It ensures that all hardware and software interact correctly
